App & Notifications
Aktualisiert 2026-08-05
Taro Bay runs in any modern browser — but you can also install it like an app and let it ping you when your action queue finishes. Both are optional, both take under a minute, and together they close the classic idle loop: queue up work, pocket your phone, come back exactly when the bay is done.
Install the app
Installing puts Taro Bay on your home screen or desktop, opens it in its own window without browser chrome, and (on iPhone and iPad) is the prerequisite for notifications.
- Android (Chrome): open Taro Bay, tap the ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen (Chrome may also offer an Install banner on its own). Confirm, and the bay icon lands on your home screen.
- Desktop (Chrome / Edge): look for the small install icon at the right end of the address bar (a monitor with a down arrow) and click Install. Taro Bay then opens in its own window like any other app.
- iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. This step matters more than it looks: iOS only delivers game notifications to the installed app — Safari tabs alone won't ring.
The installed app is the same game, same account, same save — it's simply a nicer front door.
Queue-finished notifications
Opt in and Taro Bay sends one push notification when your action queue runs dry — the moment your active action and everything queued behind it is done (see action-queue for how the queue works). No mail, no spam, no other pings: this is the only thing the game will ever notify you about, and it's off by default.
To turn it on:
- Open your character sheet (the C key, or your portrait).
- Scroll to the Notifications section.
- Flip "Notify me when my queue finishes" and allow notifications when your browser asks.
A few things worth knowing:
- Per device. The toggle covers the device you flip it on — enable it on your phone and your desktop separately if you want both to ring. Turning it off on one device leaves the others untouched.
- Only when you're away. If you're actively playing, the game stays quiet — you can see the queue drain yourself; no ping needed.
- Endless runs never notify. An ∞ action never finishes by itself, so there is nothing to announce. Set a fixed count (or use the hour shortcuts) if you want the tap on the shoulder.
- The timing is the queue's own estimate. A run that ends early — say a processing chain runs out of materials — makes the ping arrive a little after the actual stop. Hunts can nudge it the other way: the estimate assumes every fight is won, so a defeat and the recovery that follows it (see combat) can leave the tail of your queue still running when the ping arrives.
- Blocked it by accident? If you denied the browser prompt, the toggle can't do anything until you allow notifications for Taro Bay in your browser's site settings, then flip it again.
Turn it off any time with the same toggle — the setting even survives account resets, so you only ever decide once per device.
