Guilds & Daily Quests

Updated 2026-07-12

Taro Bay is an MMO, and its social heart is the guild — a group of divers with a shared chat, a shared purse and cooperative daily quests. Alongside guild life, everyone has their own rotating daily quests for a little extra coin.

Daily quests

Each day you get a small set of daily quests — bite-sized goals like "begin 2 diving actions" or "harvest 2 ripe plots". Complete one and claim its reward, which is mon (sometimes plus a handful of items). A few examples of what rotates in:

QuestGoalReward
Peddle WaresSell 3 times to the trader60 mon
Work the MarketPlace 2 market orders70 mon
Tend the LandHarvest 2 ripe plots90 mon
Take the PlungeBegin 2 diving actions70 mon
Big HaulSell 20 items to the trader120 mon + 3 rice

Your progress ticks up automatically as you play, and the quest board resets each day — a steady bonus on top of everything else you're doing.

Founding or joining a guild

You can belong to one guild at a time. Joining an existing one is free; founding your own costs 1,000 mon. A guild has:

  • a name, a 2–4 letter tag shown next to members' names, and a short description,
  • three roles — Leader, Officer, Member,
  • its own chat channel, and
  • a join mode: open (anyone may join) or invite only.

A new guild starts with room for 10 members and can grow to a maximum of 30.

Koban — the guild currency

Guilds have their own currency, koban, entirely separate from your personal mon. Koban:

  • is earned collectively from guild daily quests,
  • sits in the guild's shared treasury, and
  • is spent only by the Leader — for example to raise the member cap or unlock new guild symbols (emblems).

Koban is never a personal currency and can't be traded. Raising the member cap costs koban in +2 steps — 50 koban for the first step (10 → 12), then 100, and so on up to the cap of 30.

Guild daily quests

On top of your personal dailies, the guild shares a set of cooperative daily quests. Everyone's contributions add up toward one goal — for instance, "harvest 20 ripe plots across the guild" or "fill 15 market trades between players". Your effort only counts from the moment you're in the guild (progress is tallied from guild-midnight or when you joined, whichever is later).

Completing a guild daily rewards the whole guild with koban and guild XPnever mon. Guild XP is pure prestige: it raises the guild's level and its standing in the guild directory, but is never spent.

Why join

  • Company and chat — the fastest way to learn the ropes and trade tips.
  • Shared goals — guild dailies turn everyone's grind into collective rewards.
  • Prestige — climb the guild directory as your guild levels up.
