About the game
Long ago a young fisherman followed a turtle down beneath the waves, into a palace where one evening lasted a lifetime on shore. Taro Bay begins at that water's edge — and every dive goes a little deeper.
Taro Bay is a free idle MMO that runs in a browser tab. You queue up work, close the tab, and come back to a report of everything your character gathered, crafted and levelled while you were gone. 18 skills feed each other across 6 diving zones, from the tide pools at the surface down to the Ryūgū Depths at −1,000 m, and every zone is gated by gear a player had to make first.
Nothing in the game is sold for real money. Every suit, boat and blade is crafted by a player and traded on an order book for mon, the in-game currency — the depth has to be earned.
Features
Every number on this page is read straight out of the game's content files when the page is built — it cannot drift from what's live.
- 18 skills — 6 gathering, 6 crafting, 6 combat. Each levels to 99.
- 6 diving zones, from the tidal pools at 0 m down to −1,000 m, each gated by craftable gear.
- 394 items on one connected crafting graph — a farmed thread becomes the suit that opens the next zone.
- A player-driven market: a real order book settled in mon. The NPC trader only frames the corridor with a buy floor and a small starter assortment.
- Combat that idles like everything else: 4 hunting grounds, 12 opponents (4 of them bosses) and 6 abilities.
- Guilds with their own chat and goals, plus Global, Trade and Help channels for the bay at large.
- 36 achievements and 19 leaderboards — one board per skill plus total level.
- Two interfaces on one save: Classic panels, or Kakemono, a vertical scroll world that descends from the village into the deep.
- Real offline progress: a return report of everything that happened while the tab was closed, and one optional notification when the queue runs dry.

Logo and icon
The typed wordmark is the logo — there is no separate picture mark. The ⟡ kamon to the left of it is the same glyph the app icon is built from, and it may be used on its own where the full lockup would be too small.

Colours and type
Palette
Indigo night #110e1c (ground) · #f0eef6 (text) · gold #f0b342 (currency and primary actions) · shu #e8503a (the mark) · sea teal #3cc9b8 (progress and depth).
Taro Bay is a dark-only design. Please don't place the lockup on a light-coloured brand background — there is a dark-on-light version above for that case.
Typeface
Zen Kaku Gothic New (SIL Open Font License) carries the interface and the wordmark; Shippori Mincho is used only for small kanji accents.

Using these assets
You may use the screenshots, the lockup and the icon on this page to report on, review, stream or link to Taro Bay, in print and online, without asking first. Crop and scale them as your layout needs; please don't recolour the lockup or rebuild it in another typeface.
The name Taro Bay, the wordmark and the ⟡ kamon are the marks of the game. Please don't use them for anything that suggests an official partnership, endorsement or affiliation that doesn't exist.
Screenshots may show player-made content. If you need a shot of something specific — a particular skill, a boss fight, the market at a busy moment — just ask; it's usually a five-minute job.
Contact
Taro Bay is made by one person. Questions, review copies of anything (there is nothing to buy — it's free), interview requests, or a shot you can't take yourself: hello@tarobay.io.
Replies usually come the same day, occasionally the next.
