Fair Play Charter

Taro Bay is a free browser idle MMO with a player-driven market — and it will never be pay-to-win. This charter is our public promise of what that means.

The market is player-run

Everything you can trade in Taro Bay — gear, materials, mon (◉) — comes from play. A player dived for it, fished it up, grew it, or crafted it.

We never sell any of it for real money — not directly, and not through a back door. There is no purchasable currency that converts into mon or into tradable goods.

Progression is earned

Levels, skills, recipes, zones — none of it can be bought. The only way down to the Dragon Palace is to play your way down.

No loot boxes, no gacha, no ads

No paid random rewards of any kind — no loot boxes, no gacha, no lucky draws. And no ads: we don't sell your attention either.

What we may sell one day

Taro Bay has server bills, so one day there may be things to buy: cosmetics — account-bound, never tradable, no stats — and supporter extras such as a badge or chat flair.

Every purchase has to pass one test: if it would move the player market, we redesign it or drop it.

Right now, everything is free

The open beta has no purchases of any kind. We are writing this down before there is a shop — so the line is drawn while nothing is for sale.

Holding us to it

This charter is our public promise, not a contract — it stands beside the Game Rules, it doesn't replace them. If it ever changes, we will say so openly and in advance: on this page, in the game, and on Discord.
